Youth exchange program in Romania: focusing on careers, balance, and the challenges of the digital world

In November 2025, the second youth exchange program of the project took place in Romania, with the participation of 20 young people and youth workers from Hungary and Romania. The program offered a unique opportunity for participants from both countries to work together on issues that shape their everyday lives and future careers: career orientation, work-life balance, and conscious use of the digital world.

The training combined coaching, soft skills development, and drama pedagogy tools to provide experiential learning. Through role-playing, case studies, and interactive exercises, the young people discovered their own resources, worked through their dilemmas, and developed new strategies. A key task was to work through the case study “The First Job,” which helped participants to more consciously consider their values and decisions in their future careers.

Another powerful element of the program was the development of digital awareness. Through the case study entitled “In the Trap of Digital Addiction,” participants were confronted with the risks of excessive use of social media and were given specific tools to develop a more conscious online presence.

For youth workers, the program provided an opportunity to creatively apply the Toolkit, while young people gained practical experience in self-awareness, emotional intelligence, resilience, and conscious decision-making. According to feedback, participants not only gained knowledge, but also realistic, everyday solutions that will help them build their future in a more active, confident, and responsible way.
